Production Process :
- Design and Prototyping
The first step is to create detailed designs based on customer specifications. Prototypes are developed to test functionality, ergonomics, and fit before finalizing the production design.
- Mold Design and Tooling
Custom molds are designed for the overmolding process, taking into account the specific geometry of the handheld device. Precision tooling ensures that the mold will create high-quality, consistent parts.
- Material Selection
High-quality ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is selected as the substrate material, chosen for its strength, impact resistance, and ease of processing. The secondary material, often a soft plastic or rubber, is also selected based on the desired tactile qualities and functionality of the device.
- Injection Molding (ABS Substrate)
The ABS plastic is injected into the mold to create the base of the handheld device. This forms the rigid structural component of the product.
- Overmolding (Secondary Material)
After the ABS substrate is cooled and solidified, a second layer of material, such as soft plastic or rubber, is overmolded onto the ABS component. This process provides added flexibility, texture, and enhanced grip to the device.
- Cooling and Curing
Once the overmolding material is injected, the part is cooled and cured to ensure the layers bond properly and achieve optimal durability.
- Post-Processing and Finishing

At YJCPolymer, we operate advanced manufacturing facilities equipped with precision CNC machines, Mirror EDM, EDM, and Slow-Speed Wire Cut (WC), along with 15 rubber compression machines and 2 LSR injection machines. Our production process is supported by automated equipment such as AutoDryer lines, screen printing machines, 3D measuring instruments, and die-cutting machines.
To ensure the highest quality, we utilize advanced testing tools, including 3D projectors, sealing testers, elasticity measurement instruments, and durometers.
